Before establishing Greatlab Pharmaceutical Inc., Anna Liza U. Lopez was a dedicated community pharmacist, serving patients in their family-owned drugstore. Day by day, she encountered a reality that deeply moved her—many people were unable to afford the medicines they needed due to financial hardship.
This experience became a turning point.
With her background in pharmaceutical compounding and formulation—particularly in dermatological preparations—and her deep appreciation for nature, Anna began envisioning a different approach to healthcare: one that combines natural healing with scientific formulation, making treatment both effective and accessible.
However, the journey was not without challenges.
At a critical point in her life, Anna underwent a thyroid-related operation that resulted in the loss of her voice for nearly a year. What could have been a setback became a season of reflection, healing, and purpose. During this time at home, her passion for formulation and her advocacy for community health grew even stronger.
It was in this quiet season that her first breakthrough product was born:
HP Turmeric Oil Liniment
Carefully formulated using turmeric and other natural actives, the product was developed with the intention of providing a powerful, affordable, and multi-purpose remedy for common conditions. Through rigorous development and compliance, the product was successfully registered with the FDA as a human drug.
Further validation came through testing conducted at the Natural Sciences Research Institute in University of the Philippines- Diliman, where results showed activity against Trichophyton mentagrophytes, a common fungal pathogen associated with skin infections.
